Hot Date is a frantic top-down 2D game involving putting out fires set in your apartment by your demon cat while you are waiting for your Tinder date to arrive. This project was done through Laguna College of Art and Design's 48-hour game jam.

Responsibilities
â–ª Served as sole engineer for the project, implementing all assets, game functionality, menus, and polish.
â–ª Designed gameplay and managed project scope based on team's story, art, and conceptual ideas, and my own capabilities
â–ª Advised artists new to game dev on asset creation, including drawn perspective consistency, file formatting, animation functions, and pixel dimensions.

â–ª Object burn timer that varies depending on object's material and flammability
â–ª Apartment presentability meter that uses values of each object's importance in the space (i.e., intact couch is more valuable than intact plant)
â–ª Two different game endings depending on the apartment's presentability level at the time your Tinder date arrives
